Job Purpose:


If you are deeply passionate about working with social media, emerging platforms and thrive from doing amazing, impactful, and purposeful work that makes a real and lasting difference in the lives of the world's most vulnerable children, then you could be the perfect fit to join our Social Media team as our Social Media Specialist.

In this role, you'll help ideate, create, and execute content on our executive social and brand social accounts and engage Canadians to invite and inspire more people to join us on our mission to do more for more children.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media content and engagement

  • Create, curate and publish compelling content for our executive and brand accounts across various social media channels
  • Create social media reports providing key insights and actionable next steps to key stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Create social media content for specific audience segments throughout the customer journey
  • With brand narrative and affinity, priorities and mission in mind, recommend opportunities to add context to relevant breaking news
  • Collaborate with the team to create social media focus for key moments and campaign opportunities.
  • Keep an eye on current and upcoming social media trends and stay up to date with social media best practices
Cross functional teamwork

  • Work crossfunctionally to identify and shape content opportunities.
  • Collaborate and storyboard opportunities with creative, design and video team support
  • Collaborate with supporter care regarding any concerns or issues.
  • Develop ongoing World Vision presence on emerging platforms and make recommendations on engagement.
  • Represent Canada in related World Vision International meetings and collaborate on strategic global opportunities.
Operations

  • Recommend and/or leverage operational tools and tracking systems, including monitoring and social media listening, content analysis and performance
  • Participate in setting objectives and goals using OKRs, KPIs.

Qualifications:


  • Degree in Communications, Digital Marketing or relevant fields
  • Minimum two years experience developing, curating and driving social media content and demonstrated engagement
  • Indepth understanding of social trends, channels and their audience reach; you understand the competitive market, customers, and stays on top of emerging platforms
  • Knowledge of international development, Canadian nonprofit and fundraising sector a plus
  • Have an understanding of the role of social media in mainstream media, entertainment, news
  • Highly organized and takes initiative
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of social media tools including Sprout Social and Later
