We have an opportunity for you to join our production team as a Maintenance MillwrightEach member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada's success and in ensuring we meet our customers' quality, cost and delivery expectations.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the scope of this integral position involves the maintenance of all property and equipment at the facility, including mechanical and some non-compulsory electrical repairs.
This innovative and proactive team oriented, and problem-solver individual will maintain the life of the equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure the safe and efficient operations of plant equipment.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on heavy machinery and components to ensure optimal functionality and operational efficiency.Execute planned preventative maintenance to production equipment as well as other services and utilities.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with machinery and equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Repair and Installation:
Conduct repairs, replacements, and installations of mechanical components, including bearings, shafts, gears, and conveyor systems, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory levels, to track maintenance schedules and equipment history.
Communicate with the rest of the maintenance team and plant personnel when resolving problems.Coordinate with other members of the maintenance team, as well as production and engineering staff, to optimize equipment performance and address maintenance-related concerns.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in maintenance techniques, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
Must possess a valid certificate of competency/license issued by the province of Ontario in the field of "Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) with certificate of Apprenticeship" .
Minimum 3 years of experience as Maintenance Millwright/Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.Must have knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures.
Basic Computer Skills - MS Office components and Adobe Acrobat
Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs [CMMS]
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot various type of industrial equipment from basic to complex.
