Purpose:
To maintain a clean and safe environment while working as a member of the team to provide a comfortable environment for the residents of the Meadows of Aurora.
Reporting to:
Manager of Facilities Services
Qualifications:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
In good health and have the ability to do heavy lifting.
Experience in an institutional housekeeping department
A mature attitude
A genuine interest in people
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day Duties:
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the building.
- Clean, disinfect, all public areas of the facility and common places.
- Clean apartments for residents.
- Provide laundry services for residents.
- Clean common places as assigned.
- Vacuum / mop corridors and sanitize handrails.
- Check sitting areas/lounges daily and ensure seats are all straightened up.
- Remove any items that don't belong there and ensure place is presentable.
- Request and put away supplies on a weekly basis.
- Keep custodian room clean, organized and clutter free.
- Ensure carts are sanitized and spray bottles labelled for Health and Safety.
- Report all mechanical or maintenance deficiencies, accidents and hazards.
- Immediate response to emergencies
- Practice safe work practices.
- Ensure employee responsibilities as per Occupational Act are performed.
- Perform specific duties assigned according to schedule provided by supervisor.
- Inform supervisor of any changes / cancellations requested by residents.
- Participate scheduled meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

We work hard to maintain a loving and caring environment for our 600+ senior residents at The Meadows.

- Acknowledge that only English is to be spoken while on duty.
- Take responsibility for own actions and seek opportunities to learn and grow.
- Seek and accept feedback from team members.

Other Requirements:
Your availability for work must be flexible to accommodate shiftwork as well as every other weekends.
A requirement for all individuals who work at The Meadows of Aurora and support our seniors' community include:
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required. Everyone at this location is required to follow proper hand hygiene and wear a mask.
- A twostep TB test that can be arranged through your family doctor or many pharmacies.
- A Vulnerable Sector Check that can be obtained through designated Police locations.
Salary:
$19.00 per hour
