The Esports Facility Coordinator reports to the Supervisor of Esports Operations and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Conestoga's Waterloo Campus Esports Hub.

The incumbent will support the technical and IT operations of the facility, give guidance to affiliated student staff, and oversee various activities hosted in the Esports Hub.

The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight and support of the Academy tiered competitive teams with Condors Esports.

The Coordinator will be required to make recommendations, collect, and monitor usage data, and assist in steering the best practices of the Esports Hub.


Responsibilities:


Facility Operations

  • Technical assistance for daytoday operations and IT solutions for all gaming PCs, peripherals, and equipment in Conestoga esports facilities
  • Assist with the onsite functions, and be the operational expert, of the ggCircuit (Leap & Rock) platform for PC imaging and software operations
  • Upon approval from Manager, assist with implementing strategies and processes to support revenue generation and thirdparty activity in Conestoga esports facilities
  • Liaise with Athletics & Recreation staff, College departments, and academic administration to schedule facility bookings for all stakeholder needs
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of all operating policies and procedures for Conestoga esports facilities
  • Coordinate vendor communication, servicing, and repair of equipment

Customer Service & Motivation of Student Staff

  • Execute high levels of customer service by delivering efficient and effective operation processes
  • Consistent training and protocol enhancement to support inclusion in esports spaces
  • Work with the Supervisor of Esports Operations, develop semesterly training and onboarding resources to support operations of the Esports Hub

Academy Competitive Team Efforts

  • Be the contact for team or athlete inquiries in relation to team operations, facility access, or competitive commitments to academylevel competition
  • Liaise with Condors Esports Coaching staff to collaborate on player and team operations
  • Support Academy tiered competitive teams with administrative tasks and representation with affiliated leagues
  • Work with Student staff to coordinate registration efforts for practices and competitions

Activity Planning & Facilitation

  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of recreationbased activity in Conestoga esports facilities that serve diverse audiences
  • Assist in facilitating scheduled activity in the Esports Hub, including competitive team commitments, recreation events, academic commitments, and community bookings to ensure appropriate staffing, customer service, and use of the space

Campus Outreach & Marketing

  • Pursue and recommend campus marketing outlets to help Conestoga esports facilities find a student community at Waterloo and other regional campuses
  • Collaborate with Athletics and Recreation staff to create materials to communicate campaigns and key messages
  • Support booth outreach and event opportunities to showcase Condors Esports operations (Orientation, Open House, etc.)
  • Support the collection of information, including student staff onboarding, studentathlete recruitment, survey creation, and facilitation, etc. to support administrative tasks for Condors Esports

Qualifications:


  • Twoyear Diploma in IT and Applied Computer Science, Media Studies, Gaming and Multimedia Studies, School of Business, School of Creative Industries, Marketing and Communications, Esports Administration, Esports Marketing, or related field of study
  • One year of experience with facility or retail operations, esports or gaming experience, student service experience, and/or IT or technologyrelated experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Facilitation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse population
