Our Industrial Solutions Division is looking for a
Manager for Automation to lead our team and will be reporting to the Director of Pharmaceutical Engineering


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Manages team members while making sure that resource utilization is adequate.
  • Maintain team engagement and efficiencies.
  • Manages the team's multiple priorities, deliverables and client expectations.
  • Identifies market opportunities and develops their team to meet market demand.
  • Maintains client relationships and manages client's satisfaction.
  • Manages projects and delivers results to the clients in the area of process expertise.
  • Offers valueadded and innovative solutions to clients' challenges, and takes part in the Business Development efforts in their area of expertise.
  • Provides support, training and coaching/mentoring to team members.
  • Delivers complex projects in their area of expertise by using industry skills to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Collaborates with other key team members in the Life Science team (Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Validation, etc., both locally and internationally).
  • Prepared to work on Canada wide and International projects.
  • Participates in Industry events and conducts presentations.
  • Supports local business growth activities.
  • Conceptual, Basic and Detail design of biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical processes and clean utilities.
  • Calculations required to size equipment and utilities.
  • Writing documentation to create specifications and tender documents.
  • Preparing technical reports.
  • Producing block flow diagrams, PFDs, P&IDs and Layout drawings.
  • Producing heat and material balances.
  • Producing process simulation models.
  • Writing and executing validation protocols;
  • Working knowledge of cGMPs.
  • Commissioning of process and mechanical systems and participating in FATs and SATs.
  • Holding and Leading client and supplier meetings. Must be able to cope with time zone differences with international clients.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Participating and contributing to equipment 3D model reviews, piping design reviews and building plan layout reviews.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Engineering. Masters in a connected field is an asset.
  • Minimum 10year experience in Pharmaceutical /Biopharmaceutical process design. Experience in Agro industry would be an asset.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Experience in managing clients and developing business.
  • Proven track record of successful projects in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team of professionals.
  • Licensed by a Professional Engineering Association (in Canada) is required. Member of Professional Engineers of Ontario preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of GMP and biopharmaceuticals regulated environments (US FDA, KFDA, EMA and WHO regulations) is an asset.
  • Ability to travel.
  • AutoCAD experience would be an asset.
  • Automation knowledge would be an asset.
  • SuperPro, SchedulePro experience would be an asset.
  • Autonomous and organized.
  • Ability to thrive in a teamwork environment.
  • Highly motivated and organized.
