The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is assigned to work with a business unit as a strategic valued partner for leaders and employees in the delivery of HR services at the business unit level.

The HRBP works to ensure a consistent standard of proactive HR service delivery tailored to reflect the particular business requirements of each client's operations.

The HRBP operates as part of the Employee Relations team, which is responsible for delivering sound, effective human resources services to their clients in conjunction with HR's Organizational Development & Health and Total Rewards divisions.


The HRBP will exercise independent judgment and initiative in determining and recommending courses of action when dealing with the full range of HR services including performance management, staffing, managing absenteeism, duty to accommodate, training, change management, diversity and inclusion and succession planning.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:


  • Must have a minimum of three years broad and progressively more senior experience within the human resource field in a large, decentralized, unionized environment.
  • Undergraduate degree; certificate or diploma with a focus in HR Management or related area of study from a recognized and accredited educational institution.
  • A combination of education and experience deemed to be equivalent may be considered.
  • CPHR designation is an asset.
  • Proven ability to understand current and future operational requirements and identify the associated human resource requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with of execution of HR Leadership with welldeveloped project management capabilities.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.-
WORK STATUS:Temporary, Full-time, up to 18 months
HOURS OF WORK:Standard hours are 8:30 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday; flexibility may be required due to client demands.


SALARY:

Non-Union Level 8 $82,640 to $113,640 annually (salary will be commensurate with education and experience)


WORK LOCATION:

Purdy's Wharf Tower II, flexibility to travel throughout HRM is required
