Summary:
Trimac Transportation's Toronto Service Center is looking for a

The Intern will be reporting to the Dispatch Manager.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
Ensure the company meets all customer requirements and any changes are communicated immediately.
Ensure the dispatch system is up to date.
Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in the transportation management system in an accurate and timely fashion.
Ensure that invoicing and driver pay are completed daily.
Audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.
Ensure service failure reports are recorded in the transportation management system and brought to the terminal manager's attention or designate.
Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and job requirements.
Ensure that the drivers have adequate time to perform the duties safely and within the hours of work regulations.

This allows exposure to:

The transportation management system used by transportation companies for dispatch.
Interact with senior leaders across the company.
Gain an understanding of the overall transportation business.

Skills:

A keen eye for detail with a high degree of accuracy
Strong written and verbal skills at the business level.
Selfstarter with the ability to work effectively with internal business users.
Ability to adapt between independent and team projects, in the role of member/leader/mentor.
Ability to manage time among multiple assignments in a busy, fastpaced work environment.

Requirements/Education Studies:

Current student in Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree/diploma.
No experience required.
