THE ROLE
Under the direction of the Museum Manager, the Museum Curator coordinates museum collections management system and acquisitions procedures including maintaining temporary registers, cataloguing, documenting and researching artefact donations, maintaining collections database and all associated records and inventory control.
The Museum Curator also:
develops storylines and themes; organizes displays and exhibitions, as well as coordinates the storage of collections and set up of displays and exhibitions; oversees the conservation, care and handling of collections; and any other tasks required by their Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**College diploma or certificate in Museum Technology or Conservation Technology AND several years of experience in a related field
Experience
In use of automated collections management systems
In digital imaging
In historical research
In budget administration
In personnel administration, as required
In publications covering the history of the Canadian Armed Force, an asset
In promotion and advertising
In preparing and obtaining grants from various Departments
