Job Summary


Under the direction of the Cargo Manager, the Duty Manager is responsible to manage Ramp & Cargo activities effectively and profitably by providing a safe and quality product, covering a range of ground Handling services.


Job locations:
YMX available to support YUL cargo.


Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for daily Ramp and Cargo operations, efficiently managing staff to reduce dependence on overtime.
  • Maintain and improve customer and company safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain good relations with customers and airport authorities.
  • Manage and control all staff assignments.
  • Hold daily briefings with all levels of management.
  • Coach and train all employees to effectively improve operations.
  • Ensure workforce adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate to the disciplinary and grievance process with labor relations.
  • Ensure that incidents/accidents reports are completed in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • 3 years of relevant experience in the ground handling industry, ramp and/or warehouse management.
  • Relevant experience in personnel management.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal)
  • Languages: French/English (bilingual), oral and written.
  • Valid Driver's License (mandatory) and airside permit D/A (an asset)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Customer focus and quality awareness.
  • Ability to deal with conflict.
  • Available and flexible to work various shifts (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays) by operational requirements.
  • Available and flexible to occasionally work at the YMX (Mirabel airport) location by operational needs
