Responsibilities

:


  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
  • Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs
  • Oversee the classification and rating of occupations
  • Organize and conduct employee information meetings on employment policy, benefits and compensation and participate actively on various joint committees
  • Direct the organization's quality management program
  • Ensure compliance with legislation such as the Pay Equity Act.
  • Approves the formal training and development plan for all employees to ensure that they possess the required skills and that they learn and develop on a continuing basis. This involves developing/selecting training and development programs, recommending appropriate courses to supervisors, coordinating the orientation program, health and safety training, and apprenticeship programs and evaluating training programs and activities.
  • Develop and support performance management processes by providing training and tools to management for planning objectives, evaluating performance, and dealing with employee conflict and performance issues.
  • Liaise with government agencies to ensure compliance. Inform the General Manager of all issues and activities that impact on the Company's obligations under the applicable legislation and standards, e.g., health and safety, employment standards. Recommend strategies for ensuring compliance and implement actions to remedy issues and problems.
  • Continually evaluates the current HRIS system (UKG) with a focus on operational efficiency develops and documents SOP's and user guidelines

Employment Requirements

:


  • A bachelor's degree in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or psychology or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration is required.
-
A strong working knowledge of a variety of HRIS systems, specifically UKG, is required for this role.
At least five years of experience in a Salary and compensation or related role, specifically working with UKG.
