The impact you will have:


As a Master Data Associate, Product, you will work directly with Softchoice business functions and stakeholders to promote consistency, quality, integrity and standardization of master data across the entire organization.

Your focus will be on creating and updating master data records in the appropriate systems in compliance with business policies, documented procedures and data quality requirements.

You will also be engaged in supporting various aspects of the Master Data team's operations including master data request process improvements, data incident management and data quality monitoring.


This is a 6 month contract.

What you'll do:


  • Process master data requests in accordance with data governance policies and guidelines, within the defined service level agreements
  • Create and update master data records in the appropriate systems
  • Assess impacts of master data changes to downstream systems and business processes
  • Assess the validity of inbound requests against established policy and guidelines
  • Participate in the development and documentation of data maintenance processes
  • Maintain clear and uptodate statuses on requests and incidents
  • Maintain open lines of communication with requestors
  • Evaluate systems and processes to improve master data creation efficiency and accuracy
  • Drive compliance to established data management policies, processes and published Service Level Agreements (SLAs), while maintaining data accuracy and eliminating variability
  • Ensure data submissions are compliant with internal audit requirements
  • Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues and process improvement opportunities
  • Perform data research related to product attributes such as category, weight, license types, etc. and ensure that materials are maintained according to Sofchoice business rules. Reach out to distributors for Product Research cases.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of processes and procedures to support ongoing audit requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

  • 2+ years of related experience in master data management and data quality management
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and experience working with data
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Data collection and manipulation experience
  • Handson experience working with Product master data in SAP or similar ERP system
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills
  • A high level of professionalism and ability to work under pressure (with deadlines and multiple stakeholders)
  • Postsecondary Degree or Diploma
