Your opportunity:


Annual and Leadership Giving team provides strategy, direction and management to the growing of U of T's annual giving programs.

As a member of the annual and leadership giving team, you will support fundraising and stewardship efforts to grow mass philanthropic engagement and individual philanthropic engagement.

We hire outstanding people from a variety of backgrounds and currently seek a Manager, ALG Creative to join our diverse group of talent.

Additionally, the incumbent supports current creative development and production processes and
systems, as well as outputs.

In collaboration with the Manager, ALG Production the aim is to integrate all of the ALG's functional units at the project initiation stage of work, and to continuously improve work flow between ALG, DUA, and the divisions, aiding in the improvement of the ALG's team level of efficiency, as well as ensuring continued strategic, creative and executional excellence.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Analyzing and recommending strategies to develop targeted marketing campaigns
  • Advising on marketing best practices and brandbuilding opportunities and on strategic direct marketing approaches and tactics.
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategicimportance
  • Verifying that project approvals are received and that the direct marketing materials align with annual giving/direct marketing best practices and strategies.
  • Consulting with clients regarding the development of marketing and/or communication materials and ensuring clients' needs and objectives are captured during the creative development stage
  • Directing a small group in a limited area, including responsibility for scheduling and/or workflow; planning and implementingworkflow between the creative and production units internal to the ALG team, and the external to other DUA teams, and the divisions.

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years with annual giving and campaign production with a demonstrated progression in annual giving campaign strategy. Not for profit experience.
  • Direct marketing creative development experience.
  • Experience working with freelance writers and designers.
  • Experience with direct marketing or print production management.
  • Experience working closely with creative professionals to execute a marketing plan.
  • Advanced project management skills required campaign strategy and integration, critical path management, external and internal supplier and client liaison, problem solving.
  • Direct response fundraising proof reading and copywriting skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders tactfully and efficiently.
  • A strong teamplayer, should be able to be flexible while keeping on task and on schedule.
