About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Director, Clinical Networks, and in collaboration with the Network Leadership Teams (medical co-lead, other leadership roles), the Leader brings health services knowledge and is an active core member of the Network where they are accountable to influence and lead planning activities.

This position is responsible to lead self and oversee multiple system strategic change projects and initiatives, in collaboration with identified corporate services (i.e. decision support, project management, communications, interprofessional practice, research and innovation) which will achieve results that facilitate system transformation.


Working with the Director of Clinical Networks and Senior Medical Directors and Zone and program senior leadership, this individual will lead the development of innovations and initiatives that align with strategic plans, goals, and objectives of the Network.

The position will provide support across all of the Network functions using an evidence-based approach to planning that supports excellence in care delivery, improvement in health outcomes, achievement of system standards and goals established by the Network.

S/he works according to the mission, vision, values and policies of NS Health Authority and supports a provincial approach to planning and development, ensuring community adaptation.


Working in a collaborative model with Network members including Executive Directors, Medical service/site leads, Directors, public, government departments, academic and others, the Leader is responsible for actively developing consultative and collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders to enable and support Network priorities.

The Leader will demonstrate strong background and knowledge of the health care system, integration, system design, quality improvement, implementation science and the delivery of effective change management processes and practices, acting as a lead and advisor to the Network.


This position will focus on continuous quality improvement, the management of a transparent mechanism to support and disseminate outcomes of priority areas and will closely link to the research and innovation agenda, ensuring Network activities are grounded in data, with a focus on understanding our populations and being community responsive.

The Leader leads the development of program strategy and interacts extensively with clinical and operational leaders as well as external stakeholders, serving as a principal point of contact for implementation support for Network priorities.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline
  • Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association
  • Certification or additional training in Quality Improvement, Design Thinking, Change Management an asset
  • Certified Health Executive designation is an asset
  • Minimum of 57 years working experience and responsibilities in a senior leadership or management position with relevant clinical experience in a health care environment.
  • Demonstrates high degree of independent decisionmaking, selfdirection, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze evidencebased practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning
  • Proven project management experience
  • Strategic planning and systems thinking
  • Previous leadership/management experience an asset
  • Experience in program planning, coordination, service development, implementation and evaluation required
  • Experience in financial planning
  • Experience within a healthrelated environment preferred
  • Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and
