Description

This position is responsible for supporting the plant manager and their team to ensure data integrity, a strong management control environment, operational analysis, and data-based decision support.

Primary responsibilities include assisting with inventory management, receiving/shipping controls, analysis of processing yields and shrinks, reporting of key performance indicators (KPI's), providing production inputs for month end accounting closes, and supporting other local plant administrative processes.

In addition to supporting the local management team, this position will have an integral communications role with corporate support functions.


Core Functions:

  • Ensuring that local key internal controls are properly and effectively executed with respect to receiving and shipping, scale system integrity, capture of weights and grades, as well as internal measures of inventory transfers and product lines.
  • Plan and perform physical inventory observations (bulk oils, ingredients and packaging materials) establish clean month end cutoffs, and compute inventory volumes that support the accounting close consistent with BNA's physical inventory policy and local standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Plan and perform other periodic inventories that support production planning and scheduling and ensure accurate data for customer service and supply chain management.
  • Investigate material usage variances (MUV's) in excess of standards, identify root cause, and recommend corrective action (e.g. recipe shrinks, inventory accuracy, etc.) that narrows monthly shrinks and provides reliable data to measure and monitor plant performance.
  • Collect and report daily, weekly, and monthly production data and KPI's in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner to support monthly scorecard development.
  • Provide various inputs to monthly forecasting for plant expenses and variances e.g. special maintenance, utility usage, known inventory variances.
  • Support plant continuous improvement activities through preparation and participation in events, identification of productivity opportunities, and fostering a strong CI culture.
  • Local power user of SAP for plant specific functions.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual plant budget, understanding spending variances, and interpreting data for zero budget cost control.
  • Back up Production Scheduler and Purchasing Coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, accounting, related degree, preferred or commensurate experience.
  • Three years minimum experience in a related field required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment.
  • Experience with enduser tools e.g. MS Excel, Word.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and analytical skills are required.
