Your Opportunity:


Utilizing manual and self-propelled equipment, the Maintenance Worker I is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of the Mackenzie Campus grounds including the University of Alberta Hospital, Kaye Edmonton Clinic, Aberhart Centre, and Cross Cancer Institute.

This position retains responsibility for snow cleaning operations during winter months, for litter clearing operations during summer months, for grounds general cleanliness year-round, for service and maintenance of grounds shop mobile equipment, for ordering supplies for the Grounds Team, and for the maintenance of the Grounds Shop itself.

This position is required to keep logs and complete work requests and is expected to complete other related duties as assigned.


Description:

As a Maintenance Worker I, you may perform routine tasks related to grounds keeping and facility maintenance.

Working independently and/or as part of team, you may maintain lawns, flowerbeds, trees and shrubs, collect and dispose garbage, remove snow and ice, spread salt and sand, clean mechanical rooms and shop areas, and assist tradespeople and other maintenance staff as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Computer proficiency and good communication (both written and verbal) required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with heavy equipment operation and repair preferred.
