Reporting to the R&I Stability Lab Manager, the Lab Analyst (Stability Lab), will implement and perform Stability/Compatibility programs for cosmetics/OTC products (Hot Pour, Skincare, Powder and Wet Slurry) along with analytical testing, report writing and communicating results with the internal/external clients on time.
What will you be doing:
- Process samples submitted for stability studies (submission process) based on client's protocol and applicable CLI SOP and / or work instructions
- Conduct specified testing of products under different conditions to monitor product stability and to support shelf life expectations
- Collect and analyze stability data in accordance with written procedures
- Monitor stability units (equipment) and perform the necessary calibration, including download the temperature and / or humidity readings from data logger, calibration of weighing scales, viscometer and pH meter based on written procedures
- Prepare stability reports according to standards, client's requirements and regulatory regulations and guidelines
- Work closely with Research and Innovation personnel on expected product behaviour under stability conditions
- Communicate observed stability issues to concerned personnel and departments.
- Manage stability samples and documents
- Perform all the necessary testing on stability samples including organoleptic properties and other tests such as pH and viscosity when applicable
- Assists the R&I Stability Lab Manager on internal and client/government audits as well as, stability lab duties, as required
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field and equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in quality control, R&D formulations or quality assurance within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical or other consumer goods industries
- Good knowledge and understanding of GLP and GMP, and regulatory requirements applicable to stability of Cosmetic and OTC products
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills; selfmotivated; highly organized, detail oriented and with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Good technical and practical knowledge of product behavior
- Ability to troubleshoot and has excellent problem solving skills
Extra glitter:
- Previous experience directly dealing with the cosmetic stability study would be an asset
