Environmental Coordinator:

The City of Chilliwack is looking for an Environmental Coordinator to join our Environmental Services team in the Engineering Department.

This junior position will involve working on a wide variety of environmental initiatives to help Chilliwack meet its sustainability goals.

If you have the following knowledge, skills and abilities, we encourage you to apply:

Must have, at a minimum, a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies or similar program. Experience in related municipal or environmental work is an asset;
Sound knowledge of environmental sustainability principles and recycling, composting and landfilling practices;
Able to research, analyse and interpret a variety of technical data and information;
Knowledge of national, provincial and municipal laws, bylaws, codes and policies governing environmental matters is an asset;
Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other members of staff, contractors, and the general public;
Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in written format, with the ability to prepare and present technical and nontechnical reports and all forms of general correspondence;
High level of computer literacy, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
In possession of a valid B.C. Driver's Licence.
