Company Overview:
Elegant Flooring is a wholesale distribution company located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The company caters to customers throughout the four Atlantic Provinces.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Controller to work from our Bedford Highway office.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Full cycle accounting: Accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll, month end journals
- Government remittances for payroll, HST and income tax
- Renewal of maintenance contracts
- IT troubleshooting
- Attending training sessions for Syspro software
- Diagnostic and balancing of subledgers in Syspro
- Preparing deposits in a timely manner
- Generating yearend journal entries
- Preparing files for yearend review
- Generating monthly rebate reports for select companies
Skills/Abilities Include:
- Attention to detail
- Computer literacy
- Professionalism
- Adaptability and willingness to learn
- IT knowledge an asset but not required
- Knowledge of the flooring industry an asset but not required
Qualifications:
Completion of a university degree or college diploma in business administration with an emphasis on accounting.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. Benefits available after 3 months.
