Description

We are searching for a compassionate caregiver to care for our clients who are living at home or in care facilties.


Responsibilities:


  • Dementia care assistance
- including cognitive support

  • Be a kind and supportive companion
  • Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks etc.)
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Help clients with physical therapy exercises
  • Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
  • Help clients take prescribed medication
  • Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
  • Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
  • Report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as a
    caregiver:
  • Proven experience with dementia care
  • Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Respectful and compassionate
  • Good time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Physical endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Obtaining and maintaining a current Police Clearance
  • Providing verification of current Standard First Aid/CPR certification, and ensuring the maintenance of such every year.
  • Providing proof of annual Influenza and COVID19 immunization documentation.

Job Type:
Part-time


Salary:
From $18.00 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Milton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
