THE OPPORTUNITY


As the Maintenance Landscaper, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, attractive and homelike environment for our residents, visitors, volunteers and staff.


Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing routine outdoor and indoor maintenance and cleaning to a wide variety of areas and equipment that will ensure the safety and well-being of our community.


  • Ensure grounds are clean and safe (pick up debris, sweep parking lots, paint parking lines, repair walkways and parking areas, paint safety lines on curbs and steps).
  • Christmas trees and decorations boxes distributed and put away as per I.M. Care requests.
  • General maintenance and cleaning tasks including but not limited to: interior and exterior maintenance, refurbishing of suites, distribution and maintenance of outdoor furniture, parking garage cleaning and sealing, floor cleaning using supplied equipment.
  • Monthly fire equipment inspections as required.
  • Resident services provided as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • OSSD or Grade 12 equivalent: previous landscaping experience including safe operation of outdoor landscaping and maintenance equipment and tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Previous experience in plumbing, electrical or painting is an asset.
  • Possesses superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multitask. Critical thinker and problem solving skills.
  • Vulnerable Sector Search Criminal Record check
  • Must maintain an up to date immunization record including COVID19 vaccination series, annual influenza and TB screening

WHAT WE OFFER

  • This is a fulltime permanent position; 37.5 Hours a week, Monday to Friday, but may involve some weekends and evenings as well as being required to provide 24 hour on call service via pager on a rotational basis.
