Job description
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Journeyman to join our service team. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment for restaurants and other commercial clients across Alberta.
If you take pride in troubleshooting problems accurately and completing repairs right the first time, this is the role for you.
Equipment You'll Work On
- Walk-in coolers and freezers
- Self-contained cooler/freezer equipment
- Ice machines
- MUA units
- Exhaust fans
- HVAC rooftop and split systems
- Commercial food equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues accurately
- Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems
- Replace compressors, motors, fan assemblies, controls, and other refrigeration components
- Detect leaks, charge refrigerants, and ensure systems run efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Complete preventative maintenance and service reports
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues and recommended solutions
- Participate in an on-call rotation every 6–8 weeks
Requirements
- Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic certification
- Strong experience in commercial refrigeration service and repair
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with HVAC systems, MUA units, and exhaust fans
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a criminal background check

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55.00-$58.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
