    Job Description We are looking for a technically strong, professional, proactive Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who is a team player and is a good problem solver. Travel to a local client site several days a week may be required as part of this role. All other work can be performed from home or from one of our regional Canadian offices. Responsibilities ? Supports engineering design of mechanical equipment, material handling and piping as part of a multi-disciplinary team. ? Follows direction of lead Mechanical engineer on projects to support delivery on schedule and budget. ? Review and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering applications. ? ? Supports equipment procurement by producing purchasing documentation, soliciting quotations, and evaluating vendor bids. ? Liaise effectively across engineering disciplines and designers. ? Understands and implements all relevant systems, standards, practices, and procedures required by the contract.

    ? Maintains health, safety and environmental focus to ensure that these elements are embedded in the design and procurement processes.

    Qualifications ? Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Canadian jurisdiction – Required.


    • Experience:

    0-5 years of relevant Engineering experience in a heavy industrial setting (Oil & Gas, mining, pulp and paper or biofuels an asset).

    ? Ability to travel to the local job sites as required. ? Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members, proficient in oral and written communication. ? Proactive with a high degree of initiative. ? Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks. ? Excellent grasp of engineering principles and experience assessing complex systems. ? Ability to work in both a design office and operating plant environments.
