The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking an Investment Stakeholder Engagement (Investment Communication) co-op student/intern for the Fall 2024 work term (September to December) to provide research and writing support.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As an active, in-house asset manager, we're sharpening our competitive edge, and this includes having a dedicated program to focus on communicating our investment activities and information about our portfolio companies.
The Investment Stakeholder Engagement team is responsible for strengthening and managing BCI's long-term relationships with portfolio companies, investment partners, and other stakeholders.
They develop and implement investment communication and engagement strategies; provide strategic communication counsel for asset classes, investment partners, and portfolio companies; provide issues management related to portfolio companies; and develop messaging to assist with responding to queries from our clients and the public pertaining to BCI's investments and/or portfolio companies.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING- Assist with research of select portfolio companies and, with the support of our Technology team, leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools to develop case studies for some of our long-term investments- Track and document our portfolio companies' LinkedIn presence; recommend posts that BCI should consider sharing on our corporate LinkedIn page; and develop messaging for identified posts- Partner with our Legal team to complete key message documents for select direct investments- Maintain/update processes and procedures documents (as required) related to the Investment Stakeholder Engagement program- Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by members of the Investment Stakeholder Engagement teamREQUIRED SKILLS- Knowledge of and/or a keen interest in working with artificial intelligence tools for content development- Strong technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail- Technologically savvy with advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing- Skilled in creating professional presentations aligned with BCI's corporate brand- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively- Strong research skills combined with problem-solving abilities- An interest in investment management, a dedication to hard work, commitment to the highest ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn- Knowledge of working in a Microsoft Teams environment- Fundamental knowledge of basic business and investment-related disciplines is preferred
