Purpose of role


The role of the Annuity Administrator offers an exciting opportunity to provide service to our Canadian & US producers as well as our customers' investments and retirement needs and goals.

This includes processing transactions with a high degree of accuracy and providing superior customer service.

These requests are varied and are associated with all events that may occur during the life of an annuity contract from setting up new contracts, to settlement options and then finally to the termination of the contract.

The Annuity Administrator will administer and maintain all changes related to Canadian and US annuities.


Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and transact financial and nonfinancial transactions (e.g. death claims, tax inquiries, maturity notices, transfers, reinvestments, partial surrenders/surrenders and settlement options).
  • Communicate and correspond with members/producers regarding confirmation of changes, taxation etc.
  • Examine all relevant documents to ensure legal and contractual requirements have been met in order to proceed with the request.
  • Assess guidelines, rules and regulations to ensure changes meet legislative and corporate requirements.
  • Responsible for precise updates to the Accounts Payable System to manage payments and other withdrawals for all payout annuities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates of all Valuation spreadsheets and databases
  • Complete precise updates of the taxation system and the manual tax records for all payout annuities.
  • Complete any additional calculations required (i

e:
cash values, tax gains, withholding tax).

  • Assist and support other team members as required during vacation, absences and peak workload periods
  • Achieve or improve on established SLA's while identify opportunities for process improvements.
Key Qualifications

  • Bilingual (French) is an asset
  • Indepth knowledge of Canadian and US Annuities practices, products and relevant rules and regulation
  • A postsecondary diploma/degree in financial services
years of relevant experience within the financial services industry

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of state/provincial legislation including taxation is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Superior customer service focus and demonstrated team player attitude
  • Ability to effectively manage daily workflow and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency for all deliverables
  • Must be able to work independently, with little supervision in a team environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize workload as required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment
  • Able to balance high productivity with superior quality
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel
  • Solid knowledge of CRM and all Foresters Financial legacy systems is an asset
  • Demonstrated mathematical aptitude and strong data analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bilingual (French or Spanish) is an asset
  • Ability to work rotating shift times between the hours of 8:00am8:00Pm, and provide coverage on some Canadian Statutory holidays.
