Fil-Trek Corporation is a leading manufacturer of industrial filtration equipment for customers around the globe. Our products are designed and manufactured at our Cambridge, ON facility.

We are currently looking for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team.


Qualifications

  • Oversee all aspects of the machine shop.
  • Establish processes, specify equipment and tooling, and manage all aspects of machining operations to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Recommend, purchase, and installation capital equipment and tooling.
  • Prepare/Manage document packages for component fabrication (e.g., machining layouts, machine programs and equipment setup/operation procedures).
  • Coordinate with planning team to establish work throughput schedules which reflect the shop capacities.
  • Monitor workload and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Define all resource, machinery, tooling, training and process needs.
  • Oversee CNC programming methods & procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on new product designs for manufacturability.
  • Overseeing the safety compliance of the machine shop.
  • Coordinating with other supervisors to ensure that production goals are met on time.
  • Overseeing the work of machinists in a machine shop and providing technical assistance when needed.
  • Training new employees in proper work procedures and safety protocols
  • Scheduling maintenance and repairs on machinery as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 35 years' in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
  • 35 years' experience with both CNC and conventional machine tools.
  • 35 years' experience with ERP/MRP software (SAP, Oracle, JobBoss & others).
  • Hands on with ownership, initiative, and accountability for assigned responsibility.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and make logical decisions on technical issues.
  • Ability to establish positive rapport with individuals at all levels of organization.
