We are looking for a highly enthusiastic independent person who is skilled as a videographer/photographer. Someone who is loyal, passionate about their work, and has a positive attitude. We would like to hire someone who is relationship oriented, highly detail oriented, and understands time management.


About Us:

Abstract Digital is the digital media division of Abstract Studios, a recording arts and sound studio. We specialise in music videos, in-studio videos, Artist photo shoots and content creation for corporate clients.


Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Shooting videos and editing them according to the client requirements.
• Taking and editing photos so that they can be used for online content (websites, social media, digital streaming platforms).
• Capturing BTS (Behind the Scenes) content.
• Manage outreach and upload content to our social media pages.
• Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment as needed including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production.
• Edit all footage and transform it into a meaningful story line, ensuring logical sequencing and smooth running.
• Maintaining exposure and color accuracy standards while producing a high volume of images.
• Managing the organization of digital files, ensuring integrity and accessibility for the team.
• Maintaining photo equipment and cleanliness of the studio.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of two (2) years of postsecondary education OR an acceptable equivalent in practical experience with Photography/videography and editing.
• Strong videography, photography and editing skills.
• Proven filming and video production experience is considered as an asset.
• Experience managing a company's social media page.
• 12 year content creation experience is preferred.
• Experience working on projects with fast turnarounds and tight deadlines.
• A strong visual sense and the ability to take original ideas from concept to completion.
• Ability to create cover arts for musicians is an asset.
• A passion for visual story telling both through shooting and editing and a deep understanding of how to produce items for social media and digital platforms.
• Understands lighting techniques and have a solid understanding of how to make a shot stand out.
• Knowledge of compositing workflows and techniques; solid understanding of audio editing and continuity, pacing and timing.
• Capable of leading a video production project by creating shooting schedules, selecting cameras, lenses and other necessary equipment.
• Confident, effective communication (written & verbal), interpersonal skills with an outgoing personality who must be able to work with clients onsite.
• Understand social media and are capable of creating content that helps to narrate a story efficiently.
• Reliable vehicle and driving license is an asset for this role.
• Strong sense of urgency, ability to prioritize and work within tight deadlines.
• Wellversed in adobe premiere / Final Cut Pro and After Effect.
• Implement transitions, sound effects, and appropriate music.
