Description
Reporting to the General/Operations Manager, the Construction Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising the effective execution of all construction division projects including obtaining quotes from sub
- trades, obtaining building permits, construction schedules. The Construction Manager will work with in-house technicians and external sub-trades to ensure project restoration is executed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining integrity of estimate and Client Service Level Agreements. The Construction Manager will work closely with the organization to ensure feasibility and costing of projects are within company targets.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management

  • Assist in creating and revising preliminary master schedules for production staff and detailing the sequence of work to be performed for new projects
  • Manage cost and cycle time controls with emphasis on increased profits and proper allocation of resources for projects assigned
  • Interface with project managers, project managers' assistants, production staff, adjusters, owners, subcontractors, and vendors to provide job specific information, discuss impact of work and resolution of problems
  • Assist the Project Manager with creating working schedules for the purpose of estimating
  • Review work requests for accuracy and clarity, which would include: clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper charge number, proper authorization, and discuss details with the originator of the work order
  • Actively contribute to finalizing the priority of work orders to determine necessary lead times and reduce any downtime
  • Utilize R365 software system to enter production projects
  • Manage staff by developing and maintaining a performance management process to provide regular feedback, developing specific development plans
  • Participate in weekly managers meetings with the Operations Manager
  • Review construction plans for compliance with all applicable codes, permit issuance and permit fees, regulations and ordinances that govern certain bodies of work, i.e. plumbing, mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.
  • Perform periodic site inspections of projects both prior to, during, and upon completion of restoration to determine compliance with approved estimates
  • Track and review subtrade quotes, estimates, changes and requests for payment

Communications

  • Establish effective onsite communications and progress reporting processes with subtrades and clients
  • Proactive in response(s) to all insured individuals/client inquiries, concerns or complaints and resolve any issues as soon as possible

General

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and reporting requirements at the highest priority
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance in all client facing activities
  • Manage collective and individual expectations to ensure they are met
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service throughout the project to the key stakeholders (i.e. with the Property Owner, Insurance Adjuster, Insurance Company and/or Corporate Client)
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Establish positive rapport with clients
  • Adherence to all company workplace policies
  • Perform other duties as may be required
