PSYCHIATRIC REGISTERED NURSE I
Mental Health and Addictions - Opioid Dependence Treatment Hub
Temporary - Full time
Location: St. Anthony

Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health & Addictions, the primary purpose of this position is to provide opioid dependence treatment services to individuals and families within St. Anthony and surrounding communities. Services include screening, assessment, intervention, community outreach, promotion, and prevention activities.
Qualifications:
" Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;
" Advanced Studies in Mental Health Certificate OR Canadian Nursing Association Psychiatric Nursing Certificate;
" Must have two (2) years' experience within the last five (5) years in addictions, withdrawal management, psychiatric rehabilitation, acute or ambulatory care psychiatry is required;
" Knowledge of specific addictions approaches such as: harm reduction principles; trauma informed care; supportive counselling; withdrawal management; crisis intervention; caring for vulnerable populations;
" Demonstrated progressive leadership skills;
" Demonstrated communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
" Valid drivers license and use of private vehicle;
" Clear Certificate of Conduct;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" The Psychiatric Registered Nurse I provides quality nursing care to clients of NL Health Service's Opioid Dependence Treatment (ODT) Hub.
" Practices through a harm reduction lens;
" Responsibilities include providing nursing care to clients receiving Suboxone or Methadone treatment, offering immunizations, completing wound assessments, providing naloxone training, liaising with other services such as Communicable Disease and Laboratory Services, completing intake assessments for ODT, assessing the effects of opioid use and/or other substances,
" Providing addictions education to other services when required,
" Provide individual care, and provide support for families.
" The position is also responsible for providing consultation to inpatients with complex medical needs related to addictions and working in partnership with other professionals and community groups.
" Additionally, the position will be an integral part of a team that will plan for future expansions of ODT Hubs to include other substances beyond opioids.
" Provides support to other members of the multidisciplinary team across the region, which may include providing coverage and/or traveling to various parts of the region to assist with service delivery;
" Performs other related duties as required;
" Other related duties as required, travel may be required, may be required to work alone.
Salary:
" NS - 28 of the RNUNL Salary Scales $ $47.16.
Hours of Work:
" 75 hours Bi-weekly; variable shifts.
