Lead Hand/supervisor - Ajax, Canada - Corral Steel

Corral Steel is looking for a well-rounded, hardworking, and experienced Field Lead Hand with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction sector.

The lead hand will be supervising installation sites and welding/installing custom metal fabrication. A strong background in welding and supervisory/team leader experience is a must.


This position will be responsible for:

• Coordinating with the Project Manager and Project Supervisors to ensure project objectives are met
• Coordinate manpower and provide leadership on site as per instructions by Corral management to ensure work performed is done as specified by drawings and schedule
• Performing daily quality control checks, ensuring welding and fabrication meets the appropriate codes
• Ensure that all constructionrelated equipment is in working order and ready for use during the project.
• Ensure that proper safety and health standards are maintained.
• Ensure that proper construction materials are available and used during the project.
• Perform daily inspections of all work sites, equipment, and work orders.
• Assist in conducting onsite inspections at various job sites throughout the project.
• Fully competent in reading and interpreting plans, shop drawings, specifications, schematics, and construction documents.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (welding school an asset)
• 5 years of experience welding, (fitting background is required)
• Must be able to pass MIG test.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, and technical manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, problemsolving, and timemanagement skills
• Strong team player and the ability to work independently.
• Welding Certifications
• Ability to lift KG
• Only Canadian Citizens, PRs, or valid Work Permit holders will be considered

$28.00-$32.00 per hour
