    Role Summary

    Key Responsibilities


    • Support internal die construction.

    • Create manufacturable tool designs for internal/external manufacturing processes

    • Produce Bill of Material in correct format with all necessary information required for purchasing.

    • Create and distribute detail drawings / SMIRT designs of tool designs to required departments.

    • Create layouts, concept designs & engineering sketches to aid with the quotation process.

    • Support sales department in preparation of quotations.

    • Organize/Co-ordinate all customer engineering change requests.

    • Document and report the status of engineering changes in design.

    • Create / support tool designs as required after obtaining a reasonable amount of experience.

    • Work with a team on continuous improvement initiatives focused around internal QAS / QEP principles, 4DX, Toyota Production System.

    • Responsible for QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions

    • Perform other reasonable duties as required.

    Key Qualifications/Requirements


    • General knowledge of wide variety of automotive tooling such as transfer/progressive dies, assembly fixtures, checking fixtures, etc.

    • Knowledge with Hot Stamp tooling and functionality

    • Minimum three years' experience using software Catia V5 (R22)

    • Thorough understanding of tool/part & production process.

    • 3 year diploma in Mechanical Technology.

    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)

    • Job/Departmental specific training.

    • ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 training as prescribed by QEMS (see matrixes)

    • Orientation, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher, 5S, CI Suggestion Program, Smirt, Catia
