Coordinator, MHSU to join the MHSU Network team.


About this Role

The Coordinator, MHSU Network is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the standardization of the documents, file management systems, presentations, newsletters, communication and promotional tools, project management documents, clinical toolkits and resource pages, webpages, service descriptions and TeamSites.

The Coordinator ensures a high level of quality control and standardization across all services and leads activities and projects related to quality improvement and standardization of these.

The Coordinator works in collaboration with key partners, both internal and external to the MHSU Network teams, with a commitment to the mission, vision, values, and strategic direction of the MHSU Network teams.


Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities Include

  • Provides leadership and expertise to promote a culture of standardization and a common look and feel for MHSU Network teams. Coordinates the work of this standardization and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with MHSU Network Managers and Director.
  • Develops and delivers training for MHSU Network teams focused on document quality, management and standardization. Ensures completion of training and ongoing support including distribution of templates, standard work processes and communication tools. Evaluates the effectiveness of training and support methods, and implements continuous improvement strategies.
  • Works with the MHSU Network Managers to ensure follow through and coordination of briefing materials, presentations, reports and proposals as required for project planning / committee meetings.
  • Implements, and monitors quality assurance standards for the MHSU Network teams and ensures standards are clearly articulated. Evaluates and makes changes as needed.
  • Has delegated responsibility for supervisory functions of such as training, work assignment, leave requests, recruitment, and performance management, in the absence of the Manager or due to Manager workload.
  • Identifies emerging issues and new developments and makes recommendations regarding improvements to MHSU Network Managers and Director.
  • Undertakes specific activities/projects related to the functioning of the MHSU Network teams, liaising with the MHSU Network Managers to assess and monitor impacts.
  • Participates on projectspecific working groups within the MHSU Network teams as required. Completes and maintains project and process documentation including establishing a tracking mechanism for issues, action items and lessons learned. Consults with partners and content experts as required. Communicates activities and project progress by preparing and distributing progress reports, developing presentations, and communicating approved material.
  • Aligns and integrates service improvement efforts with MHSU programs to ensure consistency in objectives and positive impacts on quality and standardization.
  • Assists in establishing, implementing, and reporting performance objectives and indicators for the MHSU Network teams in order to monitor and evaluate performance and quality of service. Provides regular formal and informal reports on quality initiatives.
  • Ensures consistent informationsharing from the MHSU Network teams occurs across IH using a variety of approaches such as Newsletters, learning sessions, teleconferences, and site visits. Posts and updates content to SharePoint, InsideNet, and the IH public website as required.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the department including budget preparation, monitoring and reporting of expenditures including investigating and justifying variances. Reviews budgets with the MHSU Network Managers.

Education, Training and Experience

  • A diploma in business administration or a related field.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of recent, related experience leading and/or coordinating projects or programs in a healthcare setting. Previous experience working with mental health and substance use services is an asset.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
