Description

Misteelco Inc. is seeking a Commercial Credit Officer reporting to the Director of Finance. This role is key to the continued growth and success of Misteelco.

The Commercial Credit Officer will be responsible for:

Assessing credit worthiness of prospective customers and approving / recommending credit terms and limits appropriate to the customer's requirements on Consumer & Commercial accounts.
Sound knowledge of assessing and reviewing financial statements to ensure credit worthiness vs. acceptable level of risk.
Maintain good channels of communication with all business units including interaction with senior leadership team.
Contribute to operational improvements to streamline procedures/processes and enhance service
Assist the Director of Finance to Developing/Maintaining Credit policies, procedures, and risk management strategies
Perform monthly reconciliations of AR, GL and sub ledger accounts
Complete ad hoc customer and receivable analysis as required
Take accountability and ensure that appropriate action has been and is being taken on accounts through the ongoing assessment of client's credit worthiness
Manage the collection process through client communication, the issuing of Payment Demand Letters and subsequently filing of Small and/or Superior Court Claims.
Manage the Accounts Receivable Insurance process.

Excellent listening skills.
Knowledge and understanding of lending principles
A good understanding and knowledge of credit risk processes, credit risk analytics, risk rating methodologies, and risk management policies
Knowledge and understanding of credit bureau reports
Knowledge and understanding of detailed financial statement and ratio analysis
Knowledge of standard office software (Work, Excel, Outlook)
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
Exceptional commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients
3 years of Direct experience in Credit Risk Governance and Credit Policy
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
