- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Identify, scope, and deliver projects, improving the effectiveness of site assets.
- Provide input to annual business plans based on short and long-term asset plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and targets for operational performance.
- Participate in reviews for asset maintenance requirements.
- Aid in planning, organizing, securing, and managing of resources.
- Establish project objectives and performance measures, and develop corrective plans to ensure project sustainability.
- Control project costs and schedule and provide accurate reporting throughout all project phases.
- Coordinate with stakeholders within management and operational teams, and ensure that key information is communicated effectively.
- Improve project delivery continually by applying relevant lessons learned and maintaining detailed records.
- Look for and drive continuous improvement ideas including areas focused on technology and innovation.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Site Engineering department by performing other technical functions as assigned.
- Facilitate management of change and risk assessments.
- Collaborate on developing technical scopes and business justifications for sustaining projects to maintain and enhance asset reliability throughout its lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that all structural, mechanical, and electrical elements meet industry standards, relevant codes, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Eligible for registration as a P.Eng with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
- Relevant experience in an industrial mining or plant environment, mechanical and electrical systems, or related industry fields
- Previous experience in mine maintenance is an asset

Reporting to the Site Engineering Services Senior Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting the engineering needs of plant operations and managing various projects to increase the efficiency and utilization of processing assets at the Highland Valley Copper site.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong verbal and written communication, as well as excellent interpersonal, organization and problem-solving abilities; a team-oriented individual with a strong focus on safety, personal responsibility, and who is highly self-motivated. The ability to maintain a positive and flexible attitude while working independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is vital in this role.

Salary Range: $103,000 - $127,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
