Position Objective:

The Privacy and Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies relevant to its operations.

Their primary role is to minimize compliance, privacy, and regulatory risk by reviewing, developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance directives under the leadership of the Financial Controller.


Term:
This is a contract role months


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with various departments to ensure that privacy and compliance requirements are fulfilled and integrated into the organization
  • Track the progress of compliance and privacy tasks and communicate progress updates with Senior Management on a regular basis

Directive Review and Implementation: adapt, maintain and update Porsche Group Directives to comply with local Canadian legal and regulatory requirements and internal Group requirements

  • Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of Directives, ensuring they are linguistically accurate and coherent from a compliance perspective

Assist in the implementation of Porsche Privacy Management System: working alongside the Financial Controller and Legal and Compliance counterparts from, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd., develop and complete privacy templates and documentation that fulfill the organization's legal and internal obligations

Privacy Impact Assessments: Conduct privacy impact assessments for existing and new projects or personal information processing activities to identify and mitigate privacy risks


Qualifications:


Education:


  • University Degree.
  • Certification from recognized Canadian compliance professionals organization.

Experience (Job and Industry):


  • Experience working with topics like Privacy, Information Security, Incident Management, Corruption (active and passive), Fraud, Conflict of Interest, Anti-Competition and Anti-Money Laundering, Business Human Rights and Whistleblower Systems
  • 5 plus years corporate compliance experience
  • Knowledge and/or exposure to the automotive industry
  • Experience at a law firm is a benefit
  • Experience completing privacy impact assessments is a benefit
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial Canadian Privacy laws is a benefit
  • Experience using and managing OneTrust is a benefit

Skills:


  • Substantive legal/compliance knowledge and basic understanding of laws pertaining to Canadian Market.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and ability to quickly understand compliance and privacy verbiage.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multifunctional team and collaborate with executive and senior management.
  • Motivated, goaloriented, and high performing with the ability to multitask and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent MS Office skills
