Job Overview:

Reporting to the EVP, the Manager (or Senior Manager) of Human Resources provides expert advice,
consultation, coaching, and support on all HR matters to both management and operational supervisors
across all Aurum operating locations. In addition to providing day-to-day HR operational services, the
Manager, Human Resources also plays a critical role in implementing and supporting strategic people
initiatives that help drive the achievement of business objectives and high employee engagement. This
is an opportunity for an innovative, collaborative, and client-focused individual to make a significant

Hours of Operation: 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the corporate Human Resources team. Champions and/or participates in key strategic
projects in support of the company vision, mission, strategy, and culture and in support of the
overall company transformation.

  • Lead the Aurum Safety Committee promoting a culture where Health & Safety is the highest
priority.

  • Develops talent acquisition strategies and onboarding practices to incorporate new employees
into the organizational culture.

  • Advises management to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws and
regulations governing the employer/ employee relationship, as well as internal policies and
procedures.

  • Coaches and advises the management teams on the execution of core human resource
programs including performance management, development planning, employee relations,
compensation, engagement, benefits, disability management, talent acquisition, onboarding,
and more.

  • Provide counseling to management and functional supervisors on employee performance and
coaching practices including progressive discipline process in a non-union environment.

  • Assist with the Performance Management Review and compensation process, manage and
maintain the data for ratings, promotions, and compensation.

  • Manages activities for field employmentrelated complaints and audits, both internal and
external. Develops recommendations to minimize risk and address identified needs. Conducts
investigations as needed.

  • Contributes to the development and facilitation of Human Resources training programs for
employees and management.

  • Understands key Human Resources metrics and support the team in achieving targets.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
years of progressive Human Resources experience

  • Degree in Business, Human Resources, or other related field of study.
  • CHRP or CHRL Designation is preferred.
  • A track record of success as a collaborative and motivated leader who has supported Human
Resources activities within a complex, multi-site environment.

  • Leads by example and provides consistent coaching and mentorship.
  • Superior organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills; detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills.
  • Ability to partner with, influence, and successfully coach and counsel at all levels, up to the
Senior Management level.

  • Ability to effectively work in situations involving significant change and manage multiple
priorities.

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Broad knowledge of human resource legal requirements trends and practices.
  • Knowledge of change management principles is an asset.
  • While based in Toronto, travel to locations across Canada may be required.
