The Powder Coaters, a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our Powder Coating Shop in South Nanaimo (Cedar).

This is a full-time, permanent position within a small team and growing organization.

Compensation
- $20-$22 per hour, depending on experience

The Shop Assistant will be responsible for supporting the shop staff in the powder coating process and will use the various hand tools, machinery and equipment required.

The SA will also aid in receiving pieces to be coated as well as packaging and shipping finished pieces. Other duties will include maintaining the cleanliness of the shop floor along with minor maintenance and repair work.

We're looking for someone who has a bit of prior experience in a similar role or shop environment, plus the ability to work independently.

Solid interpersonal skills, a positive demeanor, and a decent sense of humor are key for success in this role.


Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs and move, push or pull up to 100lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Own safety boots.
• Possess a valid Driver's Licence.
• Own reliable transportation.

Desirable Assets:

• Mechanical experience
• First Aid Certificate
• WHIMIS
