    Qualifications
  • 3+ Covid vaccinations
  • Postsecondary education in related fields: PSW/HCA/DSW certification
  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must have a reliable vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel within Lanark county
  • Must have flexibility and be available to work every other weekend

Duties Include

  • Provide care services to residents in accordance with established care plans
  • Collect charts, records and reports
  • Clean, sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
  • Administer/assist/observe medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR)
  • Assist with monthly blood pressures and weighins as required
  • Restocks medication cart after all medication passes
  • Respond to medical/physical/emotional needs with collaboration from Health and Wellness Manager/Care Coordinator
  • Observe and report any resident changes in condition
  • Maintain confidentiality of all residents
  • Help residents maintain independence, promote dignity and physical safety of each resident
  • Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring and adaptive aids
  • Respond to resident concerns by answering to call bells
  • Notify the Director of Care of any resident and/or family concerns
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents utilizing infection control principles
  • Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire safety procedures including extinguishers (as applicable) DSDs (Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tag out procedures
  • Report all accidents/incidents immediately
  • Report all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, families and visitors
  • Work cooperatively with team members
  • Uphold and promote Plan A's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in our Code of Conduct
  • Assist with any other duties as directed by the Director of Care
