Health & Safety Advisor - KENAIDAN/MURPHY JOINT VENTURE (Oakville, ON)

Kenaidan and Murphy are excited to announce a joint venture dedicated to bringing global innovation to infrastructure projects across Ontario. The Oakville GO station provides critical transport infrastructure and requires improvements and modernization to support an increased number of passengers and enhance operational performance of the network. The project will include station building upgrades, upgraded platform works, accessibility improvements and parking lot improvements. The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) has been awarded the construction manager contract to help inform the detailed design, and provide construction management advice, for upgrades to Oakville GO station during the project development stage.

We currently have an opening in Oakville, ON for a Health & Safety Advisor. The Health & Safety Advisor supports and promotes a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and guiding workers on safe practices.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the project Health & Safety Program in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and all applicable regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety requirements and project‑specific procedures.
• Provide coaching, training, and guidance to site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors on safe work practices and hazard prevention.
• Participate in incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure all high‑risk activities are planned and executed with safety as the top priority.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date safety documentation, records, and reports.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project, encouraging participation and engagement at all levels.

Education and Experience

• Post‑secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, preferably within rail, transit, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction projects.
• Working knowledge of Ontario OHSA, Construction Regulations, and other applicable legislation.
• CRSP, CHSC, NCSO, or other recognized health and safety designation is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and safety management software tools.
