    Description

    This regular full-time position is available at the main office of the Riverside School Board located at 7525 chemin de Chambly, in St. Hubert.

    Nature of the work

    The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in providing technical assistance to the various departments of the school board by conducting research, preparing drawings and specifications and collecting and supplying basic data to professionals and to those responsible for the various departments or in being responsible for the functioning of equipment associated with building systems.

    Characteristic functions

    In the area of building mechanics, the employee is responsible for:

  • the functioning, maintenance, verification and installation of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration and control systems;
  • he or she calibrates, adjusts, modifies and programs electronic and pneumatic controls.
  • He or she coordinates the technical work of the preventive maintenance of mechanical systems, conducts regular inspections and required operational tests; ensures that repairs are carried out or carries out repairs, as required; makes the necessary recommendations for major repairs or improvements required.
  • participates in preparing and keeping an up-to-date physical inventory of mechanical services and of the replacement parts required for a safe operation of the systems;
  • studies and suggests energy conservation programs and applies them or sees to their application once they are approved.
  • Maintains the database of MEP real estate assets based on preventive and curative maintenance reports as well as maintenance projects;
  • Participates in annual building inspections.
  • Assists project managers in the preparation of account rendering for maintenance projects;
  • Participates in the organization of maintenance projects and their follow-up;
  • Collaborates in the implementation of the various modules of the building management program (Maximo);
  • Assists the maintenance managers in the management of service requests;
  • Assists administrative units in familiarizing them with service request tools;
  • Participates in the preparation of projects plans and specifications for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electricity and others as well as the appropriate specifications for tenders and construction.
  • Support certified employees in the resolution of systems operating problems in his field of expertise.
  • May be required to train less experienced technicians as well as coordinate the work of support staff in performing duties related to the implementation of programs involving technical operations for which he or she is responsible;
  • If need be, performs any related task.

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Schooling

    Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Building Systems Technology or a diploma or an attestation of

    studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

    Other requirements

    • Good knowledge of the French language (spoken and written);
    • Knowledge of the English language is an asset;
    • Experience is a related position would be considered an asset;
    • Ability to work in a team;
    • Good sense of organization, autonomy, resourcefulness and proactivity;
    • Knowledge of office 365 (Office Suite - Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.)
    • Knowledge of the MAXIMO and Entelliweb environments would be an asset
    • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
    • Schedule : Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. with an hour meal break

      Salary : $852.60 to $1,188.25 Per 35-hour week, according to qualifications and experience.
