Purpose

  • The Supply Chain Manager will n Manager will be a key leader within the supply chain team and will represent the company within the supplier community. The role will be responsible for ensuring the company's supply chain remains competitive and reliable in a constantly changing marketplace. The role will be responsible for maintaining high service levels to production, parts sales, and all other stakeholders within the company.

  • Ensure compliance to Company's core values, policies, practices, and procedures
  • Establishing the vision, policies and procedures for the department and ensuring the execution of that vision
  • Manage all supply chain personnel. Recruit, retain, train, coach, evaluate, motivate, and develop team members
  • Develop and execute succession plans
  • Maintaining a safe work environment to enforce health and safety policies and regulations in the workplace
  • Develop and demonstrate good communication practices and successful internal working professional relationships with staff
  • Consult with and organize activities with other teams and departments
  • Close communication with other teams including production, engineering, finance, and sales teams
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
  • Proactively identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives and implements appropriate and relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress
  • Develop staff utilization plans to ensure adequate level/mix of resources to execute plans and achieve required outcomes
  • Asist in the development and management of the department annual operating and capital budget
  • Develop monthly department information package for the board of directors and participate in meetings, presentations and client discussions as required

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demand Planning
  • Assessing supply chain risk and making appropriate decisions to prevent supply disruptions to production and parts sales activities
  • Coordinate supplier and order changes to support engineering and design changes with consideration to minimizing surplus and obsolescence
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan purchasing operations
  • Determine if planned order quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary
  • Communicate with and provide timely demand forecasts to suppliers
  • Materials Replacement Planning review documents/ reports, such as production schedules, work orders, staffing tables, to determine materials requirements or material priorities
  • Estimate materials needed for production and manufacturing and maintain required stocks of materials
  • Participate in enterprise Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and provide necessary input and data to support
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
  • Review compiled inventory reports (quantity, type and value of materials, and equipment and stock on hand)
  • Purchasing and Cost Management
  • Maintain records in ERP system of goods ordered and received
  • Prepare purchase orders in ERP system and send copies to suppliers and relevant stakeholders
  • Proactively communicates order status, changes, or cancellations
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
  • Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
  • Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
  • Conduct competitive procurement processes including Request for Quote, Request for Proposal, Request for Bid
  • Maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases and provide information about these rules to organization staff members and to vendors
  • Arrange for return to supplier and / or other disposition of surplus and obsolete materials in the most costeffective methods
  • Perform buying duties when necessary
  • Contract Administration and Supplier Performance
  • Negotiate, develop, and administer supply agreements and contracts for key suppliers of materials and services
  • Monitor and manage supplier and contractor performance and make contract amendments and corrective actions when necessary
  • Develop and execute supplier scorecards and contract KPIs that support continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Ensure Supremes' and supplier contract obligations are fulfilled, and any related risk is mitigated
  • Resolve supplier or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
