As our Resource Specialist, you embody the spirit of collaboration and dedication, as you are responsible for the continuous development and maintenance of our resource libraries, all while providing crucial support to the Studio Munge design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Library Management

  • Maintain and organize Resource Library materials, including samples, binders, books, and catalogues
  • Seek out future trends, review new products and innovations
  • Keep our webbased library current and accessible
  • Introduce all new team members to our libraries and their processes
  • Work collaboratively with the studio to develop and evolve systems and processes for the libraries

Project Sourcing

  • Maintain uptodate product, market knowledge and awareness of industry reference standards and resources
  • Assist design and procurement team members with:
  • Material sourcing and selection using
  • Ordering samples, checking availability and pricing
  • Managing sample pickups and returns
  • Preparations for formal design presentation
  • Writing specifications and installation documents
  • Engage in the development and improvement of our design concepts and documentation, specifications and related standards
  • Participate in the project closeout process to identify successful materials and vendors

Supplier Relationships

  • In collaboration with the FF&E and Procurement Team, maintain relationships with vendors and sales representatives
  • Maintain an accurate and current database of sales representatives and vendor contacts
  • Provide educational opportunities for the team, schedule and assist with new product presentations

General Studio Material Education & Specification Support

  • Organize an educational curriculum for the studio on products and materials
  • Educate and mentor the studio on proper specification writing
  • Review specification packages issued by Junior and Intermediate Designers in collaboration with Leads

Other

  • Assist with any other special projects as required

QUALIFICATION

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada holding Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Resident status or a valid work permit
  • Demonstrated experience in the design field; a Degree/Diploma in Interior Design is an asset
  • Awareness of and experience using a variety of research and product resources to seek out future trends, review new products and innovations
  • Strong understanding of appropriate product usage & codes
  • Possess strong vendor relationships and contacts within the architectural and design industry
  • Experience working in partnership with Interior Designers and FF&E experts and coordinating with external consultants
  • Upbeat, positive attitude, and regular contributor to a great placetowork culture
  • Ability to work independently
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated collaborative approach to your work
  • Proven capacity to work in a fastpaced environment with the ability to manage priorities, adapt to changes, and learn quickly
  • Must be able to lift 15 to 20 pounds on a regular basis
  • Computer literacy, internet research capabilities, and cataloguing skills

SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
