Your Opportunity:


The Site Manager, reporting directly to the Senior Operating Officer, is accountable for providing site-based leadership for the assigned sites (e.g., Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Chinook Regional Hospital).

Site-based leadership includes acting as the primary point of management on a variety of site-based issues. These can include areas such as patient flow, bed utilization and patient/family feedback.

The Site Manager is accountable for the patient flow team and other assigned teams within the site and has a strong coordinative accountability for moving patients effectively through the site and between programs.


Description:

Provide site management for the assigned site(s). Through both managerial and cross functional accountabilities and authorities, act as the primary point of management for issues that relate specifically or globally to the site (e.g. capital improvement, patient flow, equipment, supply management) including related provincial initiatives. Respond to, or coordinate a response to, patient/family feedback that directly relates to sight-based issues. Lead the patient flow program across the assigned site(s).

Ensure the effective deployment of patient flow human resources, and support the creation of a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace where employees and physicians can reach their full potential recognizing factors driving by South Zone programs and operations as well as those factors driven by provincial clinical services (e.g., DI).

Ensure the appropriate allocation of fiscal and capital resources within assigned responsibilities that can include the patient flow program, and manage and report on the operating budget, including budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring in accordance with established AHS policies and practices.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the patient flow team to ensure the ongoing evolution of high-quality healthcare.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of post-secondary education in a health profession. The incumbent will demonstrate a clear pattern of professional and personal development. Related bachelor's degree preferred.

Progressive experience in a health care environment, including a minimum of five years' experience in a site management, patient flow or bed utilization role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.

Practical experience in project and program management. Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long-term quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals.

Ability to foster relationships across the organization to further the effectiveness of both the site(s) managed and programs contained within.
