Public Relations
- Assist in PR accounts in a variety of industries, such as FinTech, SaaS, and more.
- Research editorial opportunities for clients, as well as stats and evidence supporting press releases and pitch ideas, articles related to key client topics, reporter bios and publication background, etc.
- Daily media monitoring for news and trends pertinent to specific clients' business and report to the account lead.
- Compile media lists and editorial calendars via excel with the use of both Google and AgilityPR efficiently.
- Create media brief documents with detailed and insightful notes to prepare clients for interview appointments.
- Write relevant and compelling press releases, byline articles and media pitches that include a strong hook.
- Brainstorm and devise news angles and campaign ideas to grab media interest.
- Conduct media outreach to secure media opportunities for PR clients.
- Stepup to daily tasks of the day and look beyond key responsibilities to establish new skills.
- Design comprehensive media reports demonstrating Magnolia gathered integrated communications results.
- Keep client documents and deliverables organized to help internal team visibility
Social Media & Community Management
- Support on client social media accounts; including content creation, visuals, posting, content moderation, outreach and reporting
- Work on content creation and help manage the social media channels of the company; including designing images and short videos
- Work on goal settings for social media, including growth, reach, engagement, lead & conversion and monitoring progress
- Help to implement a dynamic social media strategy for Magnolia and our clients
- Help build content on media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Blogs) to reach these goals and develop the clients' and Magnolia's brand
- Monitor the activity on social media platforms
- Adept at creating social media reports (Data Studio experience a plus)
- Develop new and creative ideas for social media across a variety of industries, such as FinTech, SaaS, and more.
- Strong understanding of branding, a keen eye for grammar, and able to keep things organized amidst quick turnarounds.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or similar level certificate related to journalism, marketing, public relations and communications desired
- 23 years' experience in communications and/or public relations preferred; prior experience working in an agency is an asset
- Keen interest and working experience in high technology, finance industry are assets
- Creative, analytical, critical and personable skillset
- Experience in writing press releases, designing presentations through PowerPoint and creating clean, concise documents in Microsoft word is useful
- Experience with writing media pitches and conducting media outreach
- Experience managing social media accounts, including drafting content, posting, engaging with audiences and reporting
- Experience using social media management platforms such as Hootsuite and Sprout Social
- Detailed eye in proofing and editing documents
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills
- Keen interest in keeping up with current events and business issues an asset
- Knowledge of media databases and proficiency with the following are an asset: Critical Mention
- Nice to have: experience in using Google Data Studio

Education:
