As Traffic Control Person you are responsible in ensuring the safety of motorists, pedestrians and other road users. You will commonly do this by controlling traffic flow and construction sites, accidents scenes, and other areas where traffic may disrupt.


What we are looking for?

Must have an approved and valid BCCSA Traffic Control Certification:

  • Knowledgeable of the Motor Vehicle Act & Regulations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with calm demeanor with drivers, public and operators
  • Passionate in keeping the community safe
  • Hardworking, motivated with a candoattitude
  • Personal and reliable vehicle to travel to the site
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time in all kinds of weather
  • Sense of alertness to ensure safety of the workers and the public

As Traffic Control Person you are expected to:

  • Ensuring the safety of the public by controlling the flow of traffic. Directing motorist, pedestrians and workers to safe routes around the construction's sites following all regulatory guidelines.
  • Providing a precise traffic control hand signals and directions to prevent any miscommunications.
  • Communicating with construction workers and other personnel in management of control efforts.
  • Responding to emergencies and incidents if needed.
  • Adhering to all relevant traffic laws and regulation.
  • Be able to represent the company positively while dealing with travelling public.
  • Assist in accessing and exiting work sites and reporting to questions.
  • Protect workers by keeping work space free of traffic and warning them of approaching hazards.
  • Setting up and providing traffic control specifications.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
