Purpose

Keep, develop and secure air freight business within an assigned portfolio of new and existing A/B customers.

Monitors and penetrates the market to acquire new air freight business within the assigned geographical area or targeted industry segments.


  • Measured against defined KPI's leading to revenue, volume and profitable air freight growth.
Main Tasks

Accountable

  • Drive the field sales volume growth in the branch office for the air freight products
  • Ensuring overall customer satisfaction
  • Sell air freight products
  • Coordinate local RFQ and spot quote requests with Branch Air Sales Support teams
Responsible

  • Plan and execute sales visits to both existing and prospect customers
  • Enter all relevant data in CRM
  • Ensure complete and current client information (potential, tradelanes, decision makers, record communication, etc)
  • Manage opportunity pipeline (actual data and stages, right size)
  • Review the portfolio sales performance and prepares for sales meetings, weekly debriefs and sales reviews
  • Form professional and appropriate relationships with decision makers
  • Provide feedback on potential process improvements
  • Keep up to date with local market trends
  • Share information with colleagues to improve effectiveness
  • Identification of new business potential and customers according to the defined Air Freight Field Sales strategy
  • Creation of yearly sales planning for own customer portfolio
  • Investigate share of wallet and develops customers via up/cross selling
  • Support marketing campaigns by visiting target customers
  • Initiate agreed number of sales leads to global network to support business controlled outside of local market
  • 5 years sales experience, must have airfreight sales experience, ocean and land an asset.
