About your next Challenge
as a Tool Crib Coordinator**:

The
Tool
Control Coordinator is responsible to provide In-Service Support (ISS) of the CH-147 (Chinook) Medium Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Program by providing tool control and maintaining Aircraft Support and Test Equipment in a serviceable state ready for use by DND technicians.

These services include managing the tool crib, coordinating effort between DND and different Boeing stakeholders while adhering to the DND Tool Control Policy.

This position reports directly the Site Manager and is responsible for all aspects of tool control services at the Main Operating Base (MOB).


What You Will Do:


  • Responsible for the overall operation of Tool Control Services to ensure aircraft serviceability;
  • Coordinate and schedule the daily workload of Tool Crib Attendants;
  • Ensure Tool Control policy is adhered to;
  • Maintain Tool Records in CribMaster software and SharePoint;
  • Facilitate tools/STE for deployments;
  • Inspect and maintain Shop Tool Boards as required;
  • Initiate replacement and identification of unserviceable tools using approved processes;
  • Coordinate effort between DND and different Boeing stakeholders;
  • Ensure searches, investigations, recovery action, and reporting are swiftly actioned and completed for lost or missing tools;
  • Training of DND Technicians in contractor processes;
  • Develop and maintain processes, compliance procedures, internal controls, and metrics to control and prevent Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD);
  • Follow all site safety and security procedures;
  • Develop, review and ensure compliance with established internal procedures;
  • Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers;
  • Address concerns that may be raised by DND maintenance technicians;
  • Actively contribute to the Continuous Improvement Program;
  • Support group projects as assigned by Supervisor;
  • Act as a mentor and provide guidance on tasks;
  • Perform duties of Tool Crib Attendant during periods of personnel shortages,
  • Act as Site Supervisor during his absence, and
  • Carry out weekend duty technician responsibilities when assigned (every 68 weeks).

Required Skills and Experiences:


  • Requires four (4) to eight (8) years of relevant experience; ;
  • Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills to resolve issues and make recommendations for solutions;
  • Must have advance knowledge of Microsoft Suites and other software such as SAP;
  • Good verbal & writing skills;
  • Able to work in a team setting
- to achieve operational requirements;

  • Able to sustain focus on multiple tasks;
  • Able to initiate ideas and work autonomously;
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week on short notice; and
  • Proficient in English and French, both spoken and written, to facilitate and support DND bilingual personnel.

Eligibility Criteria:


  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada
    "Reliability" status and
    Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • For onsite positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
