The Risk Services Specialist is responsible for conducting home assessments for high value dwellings ($5M+), providing expert advice to colleagues and clients, and collaborating on product development and enhancement.

They are responsible for replacement cost calculations, onsite structure measurements and/or blueprint interpretation, report preparation, and providing best-in-class risk management and loss control advice to homeowners.

A high level of tact and discretion is required. Relationship management, accountability, and collaboration with underwriters, brokers, and insureds is a critical component for success in this role.

You're great at:


  • Critical Thinking and Investigating
  • Building strong relationships and partnerships
  • Demonstrating autonomy, managing field and office work

You have:


  • Postsecondary education and/or industryspecific experience in architecture, interior design, real estate, or construction
  • Attained or working towards CRM or CIP designation
  • Minimum 7 years' industry experience specific to residential appraisals/assessments
  • Proficient in onsite structure measurements, blueprint site reading & APEX drawing software
  • Advanced level of skill and knowledge understanding of risk and insurance management
  • Thorough understanding of residential loss trends and corresponding mitigation strategies
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire/building codes
  • Level 1 Infrared thermography certification is a definite asset
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing
