- Responsible to increase product quality through the continuous improvement process and work practices
- Ensure that the quality, capability and performance targets of both the product and manufacturing processes are met
- Maintain a competitive advantage from a quality standpoint for manufacturing processes.
- Advise and coach the management team in interpreting policies and legislation as required
- Understand the long term mission and objectives of the organization and ensure alignment of the quality department
- Budget and maintain purchasing control for the quality department
- Own and manage the capability and performance of the quality, facilities and equipment at the Ontario facilities through upgrades, continuous improvements, new installations and maintenance.
- Contribute to long term planning by proactive planning of quality processes and equipment to ensure appropriate capability and continued competitive advantage.
- Ensure support of long term strategic goals by constantly searching out improvement opportunities and develop and implement effective business unit tactics to achieve long term plant and corporate goals.
- Ensure the identification and containment of all non-conforming product produced by the Canadian Facilities
- Lead and Maintain APQP Workshops
- Lead root cause workshops through to corrective actions implementation
- Conduct Quality training throughout the organization as required
- Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE
- Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
- 5+ years of Quality experience ideally in a fast paced highly automated facility
- Post Secondary education, with training in quality management systems
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a large diverse team
- Experience implementing and delivering quality control processes
- Experience in driving quality improvements and leading continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and a high level of integrity
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Knowledge is required
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
