Looking for Care Aide - Pediatric Special NeedsSeeking a calm, mindful and knowledgeable caregiver to work in our home with our loving and
joyful five (5) year old child with special needs. There would be specific care related to our
daughter's special needs, light housekeeping, indoor activities and outdoor excursions. The
ideal person for this opportunity would be reliable, trustworthy, caring, patient and motivated.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting a variety of aspects of assisted daily living with children
- Develop and implement childcare activities that support and promote the physical, cognitive,
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of
- Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and
- Supporting and facilitating recreational activities inside and outside of the home
- A creative and confident approach to challenges and problem solving, and endless patience
- Desire to work with children with special needs, and make a difference for them and their
- Experience working with children, early childhood education, or special needs education is
- Own's the client experience and delivers care to the child and family with a warm, friendly
- Engaging in community building and sharing resources
- Ability to manage stress and change
- Ability to receive and responsive to feedback
- Manages time effectively
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with children with special needs, including vocational
- RN/LPN experience an asset
- Experience working with special medical equipment such as G-Tubes, seizure rescue medication, oxygen tanks etc.
- Health Care Aid Certification
- First Aid certification
- CPR level C
- Must be available to work at least three (2 to 3) daytime shifts on weekdays (Monday
- Friday)
- Experience, knowledge and the ability to interact effectively with different styles and people
- Welldeveloped written and oral communication skills
- Flexible, reliable and punctual
- Must live in Vancouver, BC Canada
Requirements:
As part of the hiring process, you will be responsible for having completed and providing the
following:
- A Criminal Record Check
- Emergency Level First Aid
- CPR Level C Certificate
- Medical testing results for tuberculosis, must be negative
- Doctors Note confirming that you are fit for duty

$20.00-$25.00 per hour
