Position Overview:


Under the supervision of the Company Security Officer, the Security Coordinator will administer/coordinate the Transport Security Program, PSPC Contract Security Program, Controlled Goods Program, and the IMP Aerospace Physical Plant Security program.

The Security Coordinator will also process official Visit Clearance Requests through Domestic Government Services (DGS) for employees requiring access to Government sites.

The Security Coordinator will also be appointed as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO).


What You Will Do:


  • Maintain the JDE Security Database
  • Prepare and distribute reports on expiry dates for TC and PSPC Clearances
  • Initiate TC pass and ISD clearance renewals
  • Conduct Security briefings covering the Transport Canada, PSPC CSP, Controlled Goods, and IMP Aerospace Plant security programs
  • Prepare Visit Clearance Requests for employees who are required to visit secure government sites, both domestic and international
  • New Hire Orientation and onboarding on behalf of the Security Department, classroom briefings, liaising with external bodies including Pass Control at the airport, with PSPC, and internally with the Controlled Goods D.O., Training Dept. and HR.
  • Liaise with outside points of contact in matters pertaining to company security, physical security, and contract security
  • Liaise with CSO and other ACSOs in matters pertaining to company security and contract security
  • Liaise with other IMP security officials such as ComSec Custodians and Controlled Goods D.O.s in matters pertaining to these programs
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:


  • Grade XII plus relevant éducation and/or experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an office environment
  • Highly motivated, with the initiative to further develop and improve current procedures and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Experience in training/disseminating important information to groups of employees in a classroom environment
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • The ability to handle high pressure situations is a must
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Aerospace operations would be considered an asset
  • Experience in dealing with the Federal Government and Transport Canada is considered an asset
  • Experience in the Canadian Immigration process is considered an asset
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.

Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC
  • Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
